
On the night of March 3rd 2021, Sarah Everard, a 33-year-old woman was kidnapped and murdered while walking home from a friends house near Clapham Common (London) by Wayne Couzens, a Metropolitan Police officer. He falsely arrested her for breaching Covid-19 regulations. On March 9th 2021, Couzens was arrested under suspicion of Everard’s murder. On June 8th, pleaded guilty to Sarah’s kidnap, rape and murder. Couzens received a life sentence on September 21st 2021.
